Gullfoss which means
Golden Falls is located in the canyon of Hvitá in southwest Iceland.
The Hvitá rushes southward, about a kilometre above the falls it
turns sharply to the left and flows down into a wide curved three
step "staircase" and then abruptly plunges in two stages before
falling down a dark crevice looking like the river vanishes into the
earth.
