Hindu Death Ceremony

When the people from the Hindu religion die, the people have a
memorial service for the man or woman who has just died. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
They will incinerate their body, then during twelve days they must
eat with the family of the mar or woman who has died and they cannot
eat any meat, fish or eggs. They can't drink alcoholic drinks. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
One day after the death, the oldest son, or rarely another person
who has been selected because that person didn't have a son, should
go to the sea before the sun appears with the priest, and take the
ashes and spread them out at sea. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Finally on the third day a prayer is celebrated where friends and
family join in the church (Mandeer). |
