Exterior

Has four pairs of articulated legs which give it its terrible appearance. They are born totally formed and to grow they must molt, as its skeleton - exoskeleton. Adults molt once a year and this is their most vulnerable moment. During this process they are capable to regenerate any leg that has been cut off.

Exterior

Tiene cuatro pares de patas articuladas que le dan ese aspecto aterrador. Nacen totalmente formadas y para crecer necesitan mudar, ya que su esqueleto es externo - exoesqueleto. Los adultos realizan la muda una vez por año y ese es su momento más vulnerable. Durante este proceso son capaces de generar alguno de sus apéndices en caso de que lo hayan pedido.

Spinnerets

Here the silk is made to produce their webs. For this they use their back legs as a comb over these rear appendixes.

Las Hilanderas

Segregan una seda a partir de la que conforman sus telas. Para ello, utilizan sus patas traseras a modo de peine sobre unos pequeños apéndices traseros.

Furry

All its body is covered in irritant hair. If it feels under attack it will use its rear legs to rub its body and throws these hairs to its attacker.

Peludas

Toda su superficie está cubierta por un pelo que tiene la propiedad de ser urticante. En caso de sentirse acosada, usará sus patas traseras para frotar su cuerpo y lanzar pelos a su atacante.

Poor eye sight

They have poor eye sight, they barely see images, barely intensity and direction of the light. Their main sense is touch. When they feel something rub against them they immediatelly get up and take a defensive or alert attitude.

Escasa Visión

Pobres de vista, apenas aprecian imágenes, más que la intensidad y la dirección de la luz. Su sentido principal es el tacto. Cuando siente que algo la roza reacciona de inmediato y levanta su cuerpo en actitud defensiva o de alerta.

Presents a quite complex muscular system fixed to its exoskeleton .

Presenta un sistema muscular complejo que se fija a su exoesqueleto.

Respiration

To breathe they need a certain degree of humidity (over 80%). They breathe with many air sacs which are inside a chamber filled with blood.

Respiración

Para respirar necesita de una determinada humedad (por encima del 80%). Respiran con muchos sacos de aire que se extienden dentro de una cámara llena de sangre.

Pedipalps.

Instead of antennaes they have pedipalps with which they hold their prey. They have a hook which connects to a poison gland. This toxic substance forms part of its saliva helps digestion.

Quelícieros.

En lugar de antenas tiene quelícieros con los que sujeta a su presa. Provistos de un gancho que se conecta a una glándula que inyecta el veneno. Esta sustancia tóxica que forma parte de su saliva facilita la digestión.
