Keeping Horses Happy |

|
Feed forage on an ad libitum basis, if not possible feed several
small forage meals throughout the day. |
|
|
|
Feed forage on the floor, this encourages natural feeding behaviour,
it maintains correct jaw action so it will reduce tooth wear, it
also allows for airway drainage. |
|
|
|
Feed horses individually, if you need to feed in group ansure that
each get his allowance. |
|
|
|
Remove bullies from groups when feeding. |
|
|
|
Give hard feed 3 or 4 times a day. |
|
|
|
If not turned out, allow within sight and sound of other horses. |
|
|
|
Increase exercise or turnout times. |
|
|
|
